Significant lightning activity was recorded in the area this afternoon. Lightning is believe to have caused a number of new fires which firefighters are currently monitoring.

Residents and visitors to the area are urged to remain vigilant and report any new fires to Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Weather tomorrow is expected to reach 31 degrees, variable winds gusting to 25km/h with the possibility of further afternoon thunderstorms.
